HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize George Conditt IV for being 
4selected to participate with Puerto Rico's U18 team during the  
5summer of 2018; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, George Conditt IV, a native of Chicago and an 
7incoming Iowa State men's basketball player, will train with 
8the team in San Juan, Puerto Rico for one week, starting on May 
927, 2018; for the second week of training, the team will move 
10to the west coast of the island and train in Aguada; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Following training, George Conditt IV and his 
12teammates will depart for the 2018 FIBA Americas U18 
13Championship, which will be held in St. Catharines, Canada from 
14June 10 through June 16, 2018; the top four finishing teams 
15will qualify for the 2019 U19 World Cup for Men; and
  
 

  
16    WHEREAS, George Conditt IV will have the opportunity to 
17play against great competition and raise awareness for Puerto 
18Rico and the devastation residents are still suffering from 
19Hurricane Irma, which hit in September 2017; therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
21HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

1recognize George Conditt IV for being selected to participate 
2with Puerto Rico's U18 team; we appreciate his intention to 
3help relief efforts in Puerto Rico, and we are confident that 
4he will help lead the team to victory; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to George Conditt IV as an expression of our esteem 
7and respect.
