HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Randy Rhodes on the 
4occasion of his retirement; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Randy Rhodes has served as a Capitol Police 
6Investigator for the Secretary of State since 2005; he served 
7with the Divernon Police Department from June of 1981 to 
8December of 2005, 10 of those years as chief of police; he 
9served as a Sangamon County Sheriff's Department Corrections 
10Officer for 7.5 years; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Randy Rhodes has been a member of the Divernon 
12Fire Protection District for 36 years, since 1979; he served as 
13fire chief for 21 years, assistant chief for three, and as 
14captain for five; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Randy Rhodes's education includes the Illinois 
16Local Governmental Law Enforcement Officers Training Board 
17(Law Enforcement Officer), the Illinois Department of Public 
18Health (EMT-B
and Lead Instructor), and the Illinois Office of 
19the State Fire Marshal (FF III, Fire/Arson Investigator, and

20Instructor I); and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, Randy Rhodes's memberships include IEMA (Illinois

1Incident Management Team, Safety Officer since February 2009 
2and  Red Card: AH
SOFR3 since 2014), the Sangamon County Fire 
3Chiefs Association (former president for eight years), and

4MABAS Division 48 (former 1st vice resident and current Fire 
5Investigation Unit Coordinator); and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Randy Rhodes is active within his community of 
7Divernon; he serves on the Divernon Homecoming Committee, the 
8Party in the Park, and many others; therefore, be it
  
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
10HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
11congratulate Randy Rhodes on his retirement, and we wish him 
12the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to Randy Rhodes as a symbol of our respect and 
15esteem.
