| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Detective John Atteberry |
| 4 | | on the occasion of his retirement from the Bloomington Police |
| 5 | | Department after 22 years of service; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Detective Atteberry was hired by the Bloomington |
| 7 | | Police Department in Bloomington, Illinois on January 6, 1997; |
| 8 | | he started in the Patrol Division, where he worked the second |
| 9 | | and third shifts for four years; in January 2001, he was moved |
| 10 | | into the Vice Narcotics United, where he worked felony-level |
| 11 | | drug cases; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Detective Atteberry was deputized with the United |
| 13 | | States Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), and he worked |
| 14 | | jointly with the DEA, the Bloomington Police Department, and |
| 15 | | the US Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives |
| 16 | | (ATF) on the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force |
| 17 | | (OCDETF); his work there led to several arrests where state and |
| 18 | | federal charges were filed; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, In 2007, Detective Atteberry joined the Criminal |
| 20 | | Investigation Division of the Bloomington Police Department, |
| 21 | | and he has led or participated in a variety of high-level |
| 22 | | cases, from aggravated battery to homicide; and
