| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Fr. Mariusz J. Nawalaniec |
| 4 | | on the 25th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood; |
| 5 | | and

| 6 | | WHEREAS, Fr. Nawalaniec was born in southern Poland to Anna |
| 7 | | (Szewczyk) and Andrzej Nawalaniec; he spent his childhood and |
| 8 | | youth up to the age of 19 in Limanowa, where he attended |
| 9 | | school; he joined the seminary in Tarnow on September 1, 1987; |
| 10 | | he was ordained as a priest on May 29, 1993 at the Cathedral |
| 11 | | Basilica of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Tarnow; |
| 12 | | and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Fr. Nawalaniec's first parish was the Parish of |
| 14 | | Saint John the Baptist in Mikluszowice; he then joined the |
| 15 | | Sanctuary of the Infant Jesus in Jodlowa and then the parish of |
| 16 | | Our Lady Queen of Poland in Tarnow-Moscice; eventually, he |
| 17 | | joined his parents who had immigrated to the United States and |
| 18 | | began serving with the Universal Church in North America on |
| 19 | | August 26, 2001; and

| 20 | | WHEREAS, In the United States, Fr. Nawalaniec served at St. |
| 21 | | Wladyslaw in Chicago, Saint Albert the Great in Burbank, the |
| 22 | | St. Symphorosa Parish in Chicago, and as an administrator at |
