| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Maze Nails of Peru on the |
| 4 | | occasion of its 170th anniversary; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Maze Nails was founded in 1848 in the LaSalle Peru |
| 6 | | area by Samuel Nesbitt Maze, who started manufacturing nails |
| 7 | | because the customers at his lumber business, Maze Lumber, |
| 8 | | complained that the nails on their roofs were rusting and |
| 9 | | blowing away; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Samuel Nesbitt Maze started Maze Nails with a |
| 11 | | single nail machine and the business quickly grew and moved to |
| 12 | | its current facility in Peru in 1922; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Maze Nails is now America's premier specialty nail |
| 14 | | maker and employs 80 people and manufactures over 2,800 types |
| 15 | | of nails; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Maze Nails has been a family-run enterprise for |
| 17 | | 170 years with Roelif, Pete, and Jim Loveland as the fifth |
| 18 | | generation to run the business, and they look forward to a |
| 19 | | future with the sixth generation of Mazes; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Maze Nails invests heavily in the welfare of the |
