HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, William C. "Bill" Gooch Jr. has capably and vigorously served the community-banking profession for 60 years; and

WHEREAS, Bill Gooch, seeing a need for a local lender and business partner in Elmhurst, IL, founded Community Bank of Elmhurst in 1993; and

WHEREAS, Bill Gooch has been an important partner to many Elmhurst civic organizations including, but not limited to, the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Elmhurst Economic Development Commission, Elmhurst Memorial Hospital, and Elmhurst College; and

WHEREAS, Bill Gooch was called upon by then-Illinois Governor Jim Thompson to assist in a mission to establish trade pacts with Eastern European locales; and

WHEREAS, Bill Gooch was called upon by then-Illinois Commissioner of Banks and Trust Companies William C. Harris to serve on a task force to assist the State of Israel in restructuring its financial system; and

WHEREAS, Bill Gooch has contributed to the economic vitality of the City of Elmhurst especially with his continuing dedication to fulfilling the credit needs of citizens in the Elmhurst area; and

WHEREAS, Bill Gooch is an active member of the Community Bankers Association of Illinois and is dedicated to CBAI's mission of keeping community banks competitive for the benefit of their customers and the communities they serve through delivery of quality education, effective representation, and essential products and services; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we congratulate Bill Gooch on his 60th anniversary in the banking profession, and we wish him many more wonderful years; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Bill Gooch as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
