| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Juanita | ||||||
| 4 | Louise Tryon, who passed away on February 6, 2018; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Juanita (Wolfe) Tryon was born in Dugger, Indiana | ||||||
| 6 | to Ora and Ann Deckard Wolfe on August 20, 1920; she married | ||||||
| 7 | Floyd Tryon on March 28, 1942; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Juanita Tryon lived in Terre Haute, Indiana for 40 | ||||||
| 9 | years and raised three children in the same house on North | ||||||
| 10 | Sixth Street; in 1968, she went to work for the Terre Haute | ||||||
| 11 | Star newspaper as the women's page editor and food editor; when | ||||||
| 12 | she retired in 1981, she moved to Evansville, Indiana to help | ||||||
| 13 | manage her husband's company, Clean Air of Evansville; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, Juanita Tryon published A Legacy of Love, a family | ||||||
| 15 | history about growing up during the depression era, when she | ||||||
| 16 | was 96; the 2017 book provided the reader with an understanding | ||||||
| 17 | of life in America during difficult economic times, a time when | ||||||
| 18 | many people lost hope and some left their homes and farms never | ||||||
| 19 | to return; others gained strength through family, hard work, | ||||||
| 20 | and their churches; the average farm family had little or no | ||||||
| 21 | money, but nearly everyone faced similar challenges; these | ||||||
| 22 | difficult times not only instilled a good work ethic in | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | children, but also a strong commitment to each other; this | ||||||
| 2 | commitment is the legacy of love that bound this family so | ||||||
| 3 | tightly together, with a rich family heritage; it is the fabric | ||||||
| 4 | that builds strong communities; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, Juanita Tryon was an active member of Bethel | ||||||
| 6 | Church in Crown Point, Indiana; she was a service leader for | ||||||
| 7 | various community programs; and
| ||||||
| 8 | WHEREAS, Juanita Tryon was preceded in death by her | ||||||
| 9 | parents; her husband, Floyd; her sister, Eva; her four | ||||||
| 10 | brothers, Dale, Jim, Max, and Robert; and her | ||||||
| 11 | great-granddaughter, Ana Hick; and
| ||||||
| 12 | WHEREAS, Juanita Tryon is survived by her sister, Ruth | ||||||
| 13 | Johnson, her sisters-in-law, Virginia Wolfe and Marge Shirley; | ||||||
| 14 | her children, Susan McMurray, Janice (James) Kosiba, and former | ||||||
| 15 | State Representative Michael (Cathy) Tryon; her 11 | ||||||
| 16 | grandchildren; and her eight great-grandchildren; therefore, | ||||||
| 17 | be it

| 18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 19 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 20 | mourn the passing of Juanita Louise Tryon and extend our | ||||||
| 21 | sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew | ||||||
| 22 | and loved her; and be it further
