| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Oliver |
| 4 | | Alexander of Chicago Heights, who passed away on April 9, 2018; |
| 5 | | and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Oliver Alexander graduated from Bloom High School |
| 7 | | and Grambling State University, where he played football; he |
| 8 | | was married to Betty, and they had two children; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Oliver Alexander was an educator and also worked |
| 10 | | for the government of Bloom Township; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Oliver Alexander was a dedicated public servant; |
| 12 | | he served on the Bloom Township District #206 Board of |
| 13 | | Education, where he was President, as a Trustee for Prairie |
| 14 | | State College in Chicago Heights, as an Alderman for the Third |
| 15 | | Ward in the City of Chicago Heights, and as a member of the |
| 16 | | CEDA Board; he also served as the Supervisor of the Work |
| 17 | | Program for Bloom Township government; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Oliver Alexander was a Chicago Heights "trail |
| 19 | | blazer" for the annual Black History Month recognition; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Oliver Alexander was a Deacon at Christ Temple #1 |
