HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the All Saints Academy of 
4Breese eighth grade volleyball team, the Saints, on winning the 
52018 Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association 
6(SIJHSAA) Class S State Championship; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Saints defeated Altamont Lutheran in three 
8sets by a score of 25-22, 20-25, and 15-3 in the Championship 
9match at Herrin High School on March 24, 2018; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The Saints finished the season with a perfect 
11record of 31-0; they are the only volleyball team in the 
12history of All Saints Academy to go undefeated, and they tied 
13the school record for most wins in a season; they are the third 
14volleyball team from All Saints Academy to win a State 
15Championship; they are also the first school in the history of 
16the Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association 
17(SIJHSAA) to win a volleyball state championship on three 
18different levels (Class L, Class M, and Class S); and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, In addition to winning the SIJHSAA Class S State 
20Championship, the Saints also won the Germantown Tournament, 
21the Clinton County Conference Tournament, the Belleville 
22Diocesan Parochial Division Tournament, and the All Saints

1Academy Region 11 Class S Regional; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, The Saints are coached by Head Coach Jennifer 
3Jasper and Assistant Coach Jenna Ratermann; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, The eighth grade members of the Saints are Emma 
5Huelskamp, Sophie Hustedde, Emily Johnson, Riley Kleber, Jenna 
6Martin, Tori Mohesky, Meg Poettker, and Annalyse Richter; the 
7seventh grade member of the Saints is Alivia Lampe; therefore, 
8be it
  
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
10HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
11congratulate the All Saints Academy volleyball team, the 
12Saints, on winning the 2018 SIJHSAA Class S State Championship, 
13and we wish them many more successful years on the court; and 
14be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
16presented to the coaches and members of the Saints as a symbol 
17of our esteem and respect.
