HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Triton College men's 
4basketball team, the Trojans, on winning the 2018 NJCAA 
5Division II National Championship; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Trojans completed their championship run with 
7a 89-85 victory over Pima (AZ) Community College on March 24, 
82018 at Danville Area Community College to claim their first 
9championship in the sport; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Alondes Williams led the way for the Trojans with 
1122 points in the championship game, and Najee Brown-Henderson 
12had 16, with both being named to the All-Tournament team; 
13Deonta Terrell, who had 15 points in the championship game, was 
14named the tourney MVP; and
 
15    WHEREAS, The Trojans  finished their historic season with a 
16record of 34 wins and 4 losses; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, The Trojans are coached by Head Coach Steve 
18Christiansen and Assistant Coaches Plato Dimakos, Rex Parker, 
19Tyler Jones, and Brad Fitzpatrick; and
  
 
  
20    WHEREAS, The Trojans are Hugo Algara, Jose Alvarado, Creig

1Atkins, Martrell Barnes, Devin Blake, Najee Brown-Henderson, 
2Meriton Bunjaku, Courtese Cooper, Arman Enright-Contreras, 
3Issaiah Hayes, Greg Kester, Jerel Pitts, Corey Shepherd, Deonta 
4Terrell, and Alondes Williams; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
6HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7congratulate the Triton College men's basketball team, the 
8Trojans, on winning the 2018 NJCAA Division II National 
9Championship, and we wish them many more successful years; and 
10be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
12presented to the coaches and members of the Trojans as a symbol 
13of our respect and esteem.
