HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Clare Vanspeybroeck on 
4receiving a 2018 Prudential Spirit of Community Award; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Clare Vanspeybroeck, an esteemed resident of Rock 
6Island and a student at Alleman High School, has achieved 
7national recognition for her exemplary volunteer service; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, This prestigious award, presented by Prudential 
9Financial in partnership with the National Association of 
10Secondary School Principals, honors young volunteers across 
11America who have demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to 
12serving their communities; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Clare Vanspeybroeck earned this award by giving 
14generously of her time and energy to direct an annual volunteer 
15meal packaging event for the past four years; her program has 
16packaged over 78,000 meals and has raised more than $11,000 to 
17aid in feeding the hungry in Rock Island; over 500 volunteers 
18have joined her in her cause; and
  
 
  
19    WHEREAS, Clare Vanspeybroeck has ensured that her program 
20will continue to grow and carry on after she graduates;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3honor Clare Vanspeybroeck for her volunteer efforts, and we 
4congratulate her on earning a Prudential Spirit of Community 
5Award; we extend our best wishes for her continued success and 
6happiness; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to Clare Vanspeybroeck as an expression of our esteem 
9and respect.
