HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Bartelso Elementary 
4School varsity boys basketball team, the Braves, on winning the 
52018 Southern Illinois Junior High School Athletic Association 
6(SIJHSAA) Class S State Championship; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Braves defeated Carrier Mills by a score of 
857-46 at the championship game at Rend Lake College on February 
910, 2018; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The Braves finished the season with a perfect 
11record of 32-0; they are the only boys basketball team in the 
12history of Bartelso Elementary School to go undefeated, and 
13they are the first boys basketball team from Bartelso to place 
14in the State Championship Tournament; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, The Braves are coached by Head Coach Tim Moore and 
16Assistant Coaches Troy Loepker and Luke Winkeler; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, The eighth grade members of the Braves are Dalton 
18Boruff, Trey Gerdes, Logan Kluemke, Jace Loepker, Brady Moore, 
19Jacob Patton, Hayden Theobald, and Caleb Voss; the seventh 
20grade members of the Braves are Connor Becker, Bryce Behrman, 
21Connor Loepker, Hayden Rickhoff, and Jack Shelton; and

1    WHEREAS, In addition to winning the SIJHSAA Class S State 
2Championship, the Braves also won the Pinckneyville 
3Tournament, the Clinton County Conference Tournament, the 
4Bethel Tournament, and the Okawville Regional Tournament; 
5therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
7HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8congratulate the Bartelso Elementary School varsity boys 
9basketball team, the Braves, on winning the 2018 SIJHSAA Class 
10S State Championship, and we wish them many more successful 
11years on the court; and be it further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
13presented to the coaches and members of the Braves as a symbol 
14of our respect and esteem.
