HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize Father Richard Conyers, 
4C.S.C. for his 20 years of dedicated service at Notre Dame 
5College Prep and congratulate him on his retirement; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Father Richard's significance to the Notre Dame 
7College Prep community is unparalleled, as he leaves the 
8students, faculty, alumni, and parents he graced with nothing 
9but the warmest memories; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Following his retirement, Father Richard will 
11reside at the Our Lady of Fatima House, a residency for the 
12retired and religious, on the campus of the University of Notre 
13Dame; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Father Richard will continue to visit Notre Dame 
15College Prep for school masses and other events, as well as 
16pray for everyone at Notre Dame College Prep daily; he will 
17represent Notre Dame College Prep in the Holy Cross Community; 
18and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, The Rev. Richard Conyers, C.S.C. Scholarship was 
20created to commemorate the hard work, spiritual formation, and 
21scholastic achievement Father Richard fostered at Notre Dame

1College Prep; funded at $25,000, two students have already 
2benefitted; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, The Notre Dame College Prep community is losing a 
4remarkable member, but the legacy Father Richard leaves behind 
5will live on in the lives of those he helped; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
7HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8commend and applaud Father Richard Conyers, C.S.C. on his 
9successful career and a life filled with service, faith, and 
10benevolence, and we congratulate him on his accomplishments and 
11retirement; and be it further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be 
13presented to Father Richard and Notre Dame College Prep.
