HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Franklin B. Coffman, who passed away on January 30, 2018 in his home with his family by his side; and

WHEREAS, Frank Coffman was born in Plano to Herman Glenn and Martha (Brooks) Coffman Sr. on April 21, 1933; he served in the Korean War and was married to the former Miss Elaine Plante for 57 happy years; and

WHEREAS, Frank Coffman was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be greatly missed by his friends and family; and

WHEREAS, Frank Coffman was the Secretary and Treasurer at Coffman Brothers' Trucks Sales, a former Kendall County Board Chairman, the Liquor Commissioner of Kendall County, a member of the Sunbeam Masonic Lodge A.F. & A.M. #428 in Plano, a lifelong supporter of the NRA, and a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 1016 in Sandwich; and

WHEREAS, Frank Coffman was a proud member of the Royal Order of Racoons Fishing Team and was affectionately known as "Father Frank" to his colleagues at the Tiger Musky Resort in Couderay, Wisconsin; he always had a smile and a joke for his fishing buddies, which included his son, his sons-in-law, and most notably, his grandsons, Nick and Kal; and

WHEREAS, Frank Coffman was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Herman "Glenn" Coffman and Erwin "Win" Coffman; and his sisters, Devonna "Bonnie" Thompson and Zada Pekoe; and

WHEREAS, Frank Coffman is survived by his wife, Elaine Coffman; his children, Shellie (Williams) Hollis, Kristina (Michael) Mayer, and Terrence (Nicole) Coffman; his grandchildren, Nicholas Hollis, Joseph Mayer, Sember Hollis, Kalin Sollis, Samuel Mayer, Jacob Coffman, Nicholas Coffman, Luke Coffman, and a soon to be born great-granddaughter; his sister, Neva Cooley; and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Frank Coffman; and be it further

RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Frank Coffman and his willingness to serve his community, State, and country; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frank Coffman as a symbol of our sincere sympathy and gratitude for his service.
