HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Pastor Scott Onque' on the 
4occasion of his 13th anniversary as  pastor of St. Luke 
5Missionary Baptist Church located in the South Shore Community 
6of Chicago; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Pastor Onque', St. Luke 
8Missionary Baptist Church  has grown both spiritually and 
9numerically; he serves on several community boards and 
10commissions and believes that volunteering his time in 
11community efforts is an integral part of his ministry; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Pastor Onque' is currently the President of the 
13Congress of Christian Education Department of the Salem Baptist 
14District Association of Chicago and Vicinity; he currently 
15serves as the Treasurer of Baptist General State Convention of 
16Illinois; he also serves as a commissioner for the African 
17American Families Commission for the State of Illinois; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS,
Pastor Onque' holds a Bachelor of Science in 
19Biomedical Communications; he has 16 years secular executive 
20management experience in the area of Operations and 
21Hospitality; he has held a variety of positions including as a  
224th grade school teacher, supervisor of cashier operations,

1director of cashier operations, and controller; he also has 
2certifications in excellence in management, public speaking, 
3supervisory development, diversity/sensitivity training in the 
4workplace, and ethics in the workplace; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Pastor Onque' is certified by the Sunday School 
6Publishing Board of the National Baptist Convention USA INC. as 
7an instructor to teach local, state, and national courses; he 
8has attended numerous biblical conferences and  seminars; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS,  Pastor Onque' is married to Amy Jillian; 
10therefore, be it
  
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
12HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
13congratulate Pastor Scott Onque' on his 13th anniversary as  
14pastor of St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church and we wish him 
15many more wonderful years; and be it further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to Pastor Onque' as an expression of our esteem and 
18respect.
