| 19 | | under-represented as new hires for employment by the State of |
| 20 | | Illinois; and

| 21 | | WHEREAS, There are ongoing concerns about whether the |
| 22 | | automated multiple choice exams conducted by the Department of |
| 23 | | Central Management Services, knowingly or unknowingly, could |
| 24 | | be biased against minority populations; therefore, be it
|

| 1 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 2 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that the |
| 3 | | Auditor General is directed in accordance with Section 3-2 of |
| 4 | | the Illinois State Auditing Act to conduct a performance audit |
| 5 | | of the Department of Central Management Services to review and |
| 6 | | assess the Department's automated multiple choice exams for the |
| 7 | | above-listed positions; and be it further
|
| 8 | | RESOLVED, That the audit include a review of whether those |
| 9 | | automated multiple choice exams are biased against minority |
| 10 | | exam takers, either in their content or in their results; and |
| 11 | | be it further
|
| 12 | | RESOLVED, That the Auditor General compile a detailed |
| 13 | | report that includes a full summary of the results of that |
| 14 | | review; and be it further
|
| 15 | | RESOLVED, That the Department of Central Management |
| 16 | | Services cooperate fully and promptly with the Auditor General |
| 17 | | in the conduct of this audit; and be it further
|
| 18 | | RESOLVED, That the Auditor General commence this audit as |
| 19 | | soon as possible and submit his report, including his findings |
| 20 | | and recommendations, upon completion in accordance with the |
| 21 | | provisions of Section 3-14 of the Illinois State Auditing Act, |
