| 4 | | center; a referendum was held and passed in December of 1973

| 5 | | and groundbreaking began on July 10, 1975; on September 1, |
| 6 | | 1977, 33 buses from
19 participating high schools transported |
| 7 | | 1,230 students to the Lake County Area
Vocational Center for |
| 8 | | the first day of classes; and

| 9 | | WHEREAS, Lake County High Schools Technology Campus, known |
| 10 | | as the Tech Campus, is an extension of many area high schools |
| 11 | | designed for high school
students to attend classes in a |
| 12 | | specific career training program; the Tech Campus is regarded
|
| 13 | | as one of the best career and technical education training |
| 14 | | facilities in the midwest with a highly
qualified staff |
| 15 | | dedicated to excellence in career and technical education; and

| 16 | | WHEREAS, With 22 member high schools throughout Lake and |
| 17 | | McHenry Counties,
representing nearly 1,600 high school |
| 18 | | students, the campus has one of the largest career

| 20 | | WHEREAS, The Tech Campus experience provides an |
