HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Tara 
4Latrice Brewer of Broadview, who passed away on January 17, 
52018; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Tara Brewer was born in Melrose Park to Lacy 
7Brewer Jr. and Hattie Brewer on August 25, 1972; she graduated 
8from Proviso East High School and then earned a bachelor's 
9degree in business administration and a Master of Business 
10Administration at Benedictine University; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Tara Brewer began working at an early age; her 
12employment included jobs with American Household Bank, Harris 
13Bank, Dress Barn, and Hines Hospital; in her most recent 
14position, she worked as the Housing Program Manager for the 
15Housing Authority of Cook County in Chicago; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Tara Brewer enjoyed participating in community 
17events and representing Broadview as a Trustee; she was 
18instrumental in the passing of the 2017-2018 Broadview Village 
19budget; she regularly participated in Operation Santa, 
20attended village parades and dinners, and worked diligently 
21with the Box Top Program, where she collected labels for Lindop 
22School District 92; she encouraged her friends and family to

1support charities by performing small acts that made a big 
2impact; she also became an advocate for Ulrich Children's Home 
3when she mentored a four-year-old-girl and later became a legal 
4foster parent to that same girl's newborn child; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Tara Brewer, a Broadview resident for 45 years, 
6was a tremendous asset to her community, and she will be sorely 
7missed; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Tara Brewer is survived by her parents; and her 
9son, Dereon T. Brewer-Adams; therefore, be it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
11HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
12mourn the passing of Tara Latrice Brewer and extend our sincere 
13condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
14her; and be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to the family of Tara Brewer as an expression of our 
17deepest sympathy.
