| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Jessie M. |
| 4 | | Winters, who passed away on January 10, 2018; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jessie Winters was born in Greenwood, Mississippi |
| 6 | | to Jessie and Mollie Winters on January 20, 1946; shortly after |
| 7 | | her birth, she moved with her family to Chicago; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Jessie Winters was educated in the Chicago Public |
| 9 | | School System at Richard T. Crane High School; after |
| 10 | | graduation, she earned her associate's degree from Malcolm X |
| 11 | | College; she then continued her education in early childhood |
| 12 | | studies at Wilbur Wright College; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Jessie Winters worked at Burlington Northern |
| 14 | | Railroad for many years; after her retirement, she worked as an |
| 15 | | Instructional Assistant for children with special needs in the |
| 16 | | Chicago Public School System; she retired from that position in |
| 17 | | 2014; and

| 18 | | WHEREAS, Jessie Winters inspired many through her love of |
| 19 | | family, music, dancing, and playing cards; she never entered a |
| 20 | | room without greeting everyone; and
