| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION
| ||||||
| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Bradley-Bourbonnais | ||||||
| 4 | Community High School District 307 on being named to the | ||||||
| 5 | College Board's Eighth Annual AP District Honor Roll; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, The AP District Honor Roll recognizes school | ||||||
| 7 | districts that are committed to increasing access to AP courses | ||||||
| 8 | for underrepresented students while simultaneously maintaining | ||||||
| 9 | or increasing the percentage of students earning AP Exam scores | ||||||
| 10 | of three or higher; and
| ||||||
| 11 | WHEREAS, AP District Honor Roll recipients are committed to | ||||||
| 12 | expanding the availability of AP courses among prepared and | ||||||
| 13 | motivated students of all backgrounds; and
| ||||||
| 14 | WHEREAS, The criteria to be considered for the AP District | ||||||
| 15 | Honor Roll includes increased participation and access to AP by | ||||||
| 16 | at least four percent in large districts, at least six percent | ||||||
| 17 | in medium districts, and at least 11 percent in small | ||||||
| 18 | districts; and
| ||||||
| 19 | WHEREAS, The criteria also includes an increased or | ||||||
| 20 | maintained percentage of American Indian/Alaska Native, | ||||||
| 21 | African American, Hispanic and Native Hawaiian/Pacific | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Islander students taking exams and increased or maintained | ||||||
| 2 | percentage of these students scoring a three or higher on at | ||||||
| 3 | least one AP Exam; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, Improved performance levels are also considered | ||||||
| 5 | when comparing the percentage of students in 2017 scoring a | ||||||
| 6 | three or higher than those in 2015, unless the district has | ||||||
| 7 | already attained a performance level at which more than 70 | ||||||
| 8 | percent of its AP students are scoring a three or higher; | ||||||
| 9 | therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 10 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 11 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 12 | recognize Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School District | ||||||
| 13 | 307 for their commitment to increasing AP access to their | ||||||
| 14 | students; and be it further
| ||||||
| 15 | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives encourages | ||||||
| 16 | District 307 to continue to strive for excellence in all areas | ||||||
| 17 | of academics, including AP coursework; and be it further
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 19 | presented to District 307 Superintendent Dr. Scott Wakeley to | ||||||
| 20 | commemorate the school's commitment to education.
