HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Phil Kambic on
being named 
4one of the "Top Nonprofit Hospital and Health System CEOs to 
5Know" by Becker's Hospital
Review; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Phil Kambic graduated from Kankakee Eastridge 
7High School in Kankakee in 1981; he
later earned a Bachelor of 
8Science from Eastern Illinois University and a Master of 
9Business
Administration from Governors State University; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Phil Kambic joined Riverside Healthcare in 1985, 
11beginning in the technology department and
working his way 
12through various leadership roles before being named President 
13and CEO in January of
2006; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Riverside Healthcare has grown to become Kankakee 
15County's largest employer with over
3,000 employees; in 
16addition, the organization has doubled its net assets and 
17expanded its geographic
footprint into five counties; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Under Phil Kambic's leadership, the medical 
19centers of Riverside Healthcare have received
multiple Top 100 
20Hospital Awards from Truven Analytics, the Everest Award, 
21Patient Safety awards from
HealthGrades, Top 50 Cardiovascular

1Hospital Awards, and numerous more from various awarding

2agencies; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Phil Kambic serves the medical community of the 
4State of Illinois as a member on the boards
of the Illinois 
5Hospital Association, the Illinois Provider Trust, and various 
6Illinois Hospital Association
Committees; he is also a Fellow 
7of the American College of Healthcare Executives; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Phil Kambic is married to Lynda Kambic and 
9together they have two children; therefore, be it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
11HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
12congratulate Phil Kambic on being named one of the nation's 
13"Top Nonprofit
Hospital and Health System CEOs to Know"; and be 
14it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That we wish Phil Kambic many more successful 
16years of service to the healthcare community and
admire all 
17that he has accomplished; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
19presented to Phil Kambic as an expression of our
esteem and 
20respect.
