HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate the Marist High School 
4varsity volleyball team, the RedHawks, on winning the 2017 
5Illinois High School Association (IHSA) Class 4A State 
6Championship; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The RedHawks compiled a season record of 44 wins 
8and one loss on their way to the championship; they avenged 
9their only loss of the season by defeating Mother McAuley 
10Liberal Arts High School in the IHSA Super Sectional; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, The RedHawks won the East Suburban Conference with 
12an undefeated conference season; they also won the 2017 Asics 
13Challenge Tournament; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, The RedHawks were named national champions by 
15FloVolleyball; they were also recognized by Max Preps and the 
16Army National Guard Tour of Champions; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, The RedHawks are led by Head Coach Jordan Vidovic 
18and Assistant Coach Maggie Strus; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, The RedHawks are Maddie Arundel, Mairead Boyle, 
20Abby Callahan, Katie Canavan, Natalie Davidson, Katie Doah,

1Grace Green, Camryn Hannah, Katie Hogan, Avery Jedry, Mattie 
2McCabe, Grace McGrath, Anne McKenna, Grace Reilly, Katie 
3Mather, Maggie Meyer, Molly Murrihy, and Savannah Thompson; 
4therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
6HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7congratulate the Marist High School varsity volleyball team, 
8the RedHawks, on winning the 2017 Illinois High School 
9Association Class 4A State Championship; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the RedHawks as a symbol of our respect and 
12esteem.
