HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Kevin Hamilton on the 
4occasion of his retirement; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, In 1978, Kevin Hamilton followed in the footsteps 
6of his father, Don Hamilton, by joining the Carpenters Union; 
7he achieved  journeyman status and served as job steward, 
8foreman, and general foreman; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, In 1990, Kevin Hamilton was appointed as Business 
10Representative for Carpenters Local #377 in Alton, where he  
11also served as Officer and Delegate; in 2001, the Southern 
12Illinois District Council and the St. Louis Carpenters District 
13Council & Vicinity merged and he retained his appointment as 
14Business Representative; and
 
15    WHEREAS, In 2013,  Kevin Hamilton was appointed as Illinois 
16Coordinator for the Council; in 2015, he was appointed Director 
17of Jurisdiction/Illinois Coordinator; and
 
  
18    WHEREAS, Kevin Hamilton is a member of the United Way of 
19St. Louis and Illinois, the Leadership Council of Southwestern 
20Illinois, the Madison-Bond Workforce Investment Board, and 
21serves on the executive board of the Riverbend Growth

1Association; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Kevin Hamilton married Mary Ann Leonard in 1981; 
3they have a son, Adam, born in 1989, and a son, Chris (Joan), 
4born in 1983; they have two grandchildren, Reid and Graham; 
5therefore, be it
  
 
  
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
7HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8congratulate Kevin Hamilton on his retirement, and we wish him 
9the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to Kevin Hamilton as an expression of our respect and 
12esteem.
