HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize Lori Mitchell and her work as 
4the Machesney Park Village Clerk; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Lori Mitchell was born in Kentucky and grew up in 
6Northern Illinois; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Lori Mitchell graduated from Rockford East High 
8School and then went on to Rock Valley College, where she 
9graduated with a concentration in Journalism and 
10Communication; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Lori Mitchell served as Staff and Community 
12Relations Director for the Harlem School District until 2004, 
13when she retired; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Lori Mitchell was elected Machesney Park Village 
15Clerk in 2005, where she continues to duly and proudly serve 
16the residents of Machesney Park; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Lori Mitchell has served as Village Clerk with 
18great distinction and honor and has received numerous 
19recognitions; and

1    WHEREAS, In 2010, Lori Mitchell earned the Master Municipal 
2Clerk designation from the International Institute of 
3Municipal Clerks by completing continuing education; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, In 2017, Lori Mitchell was awarded the Ilion 
5Crabel Municipal Clerk of the Year award from the Municipal 
6Clerks of Illinois; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, As Village Clerk, Lori Mitchell's foremost goal is 
8to accurately and effectively maintain the official records of 
9the Village of Machesney Park; in this capacity, she is an 
10exceptional steward and exemplary public servant; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Lori Mitchell ensures that everyone who wishes to 
12obtain necessary information can do so as efficiently as 
13possible; she repeatedly goes above and beyond to make sure 
14that residents of Machesney Park are well served; therefore, be 
15it
  
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
17HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
18commend and applaud Lori Mitchell for the remarkable, selfless 
19work that she does as Village Clerk and as a citizen of the 
20State of Illinois; and be it further
  
 
21    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
