HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Lester 
4Leon Johnson of Bath, who passed away on August 9, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Lester Johnson was born in
Chandlerville to Lewis 
6Byron and Lola Violet (Hohimer) Johnson on February 24, 1943; 
7he married Mary
Frances Sarff on October 30, 1965; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Lester Johnson retired from
Caterpillar, Inc. 
9after over 25 years of work in the foundry; he served as an

10officer with the Bath Police Department for over 30 years; he 
11also worked as a
commercial fisherman; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Lester Johnson was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran 
13Church in Havana; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Lester Johnson was preceded in death by his 
15parents and his
sisters, Flora Jane West and Muriel Sue Felles; 
16and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Lester Johnson is survived by his wife, Mary; his 
18daughters, Deanna Lee (Floyd)
Foutch, Shannon Rebecca Page, and 
19Martina Kae (Mike) Pherigo; his grandchildren, Marissa, Drake, 
20Justin, Josh, and Jake; five
great-grandchildren; his sisters,

1Lois Russell and Shirley Hall; and several nieces and nephews; 
2therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
4HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5mourn the passing of Lester Leon Johnson, and extend our 
6sincere condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew 
7and loved him; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to  the family of  Lester Johnson as an expression of 
10our deepest sympathy.
