HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize On Tour Brewing for winning 
4national honors at the 2017 Great American Beer Festival; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, On Tour Brewing was chosen as the best Very Small 
6Brewing Company and Very Small Brewing Company Brewer of the 
7Year for breweries making fewer than 1,000 barrels; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, On Tour Brewing owner, Mark Legenza, and brewer, 
9Mark Poffenberger, have invested many years and countless hours 
10in developing their beer styles and perfecting the art of 
11making people happy and giving them a place to enjoy the 
12company of friends; and
 
13    WHEREAS, On Tour Brewing was established in January of 2017 
14and is located in the West Town neighborhood of the City of 
15Chicago; it is an economic anchor of a rapidly developing food 
16and entertainment corridor on West Hubbard Street and the 
17surrounding neighborhoods; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Mark Legenza is a third-generation Chicagoan and 
19located the brewery near where his grandparents lived; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, On Tour Brewing employs 11 full and part-time

1staff; it has plans to build on its national recognition and 
2continue to its growth and commitment to Illinois beer and the 
3consumers who enjoy it; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, On Tour Brewing exemplifies the creative nature 
5and industry leadership shown by brewers across the State, 
6where over 180 breweries now call Illinois home and employ 
74,500 people directly, contributing $2.6 billion to the State's 
8economy; therefore, be it
  
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
10HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
11congratulate On Tour Brewing for winning national honors at the 
122017 Great American Beer Festival and bringing national 
13recognition to its brand and the experience of its customers; 
14and be it further
  
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
16presented to On Tour Brewing as a symbol of our respect and 
17esteem.
