| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate Robert J. Wingert
on the |
| 4 | | occasion of his retirement after more than 42 years as |
| 5 | | president of the Community Bankers Association of
Illinois |
| 6 | | (CBAI); and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, In 1974, community bankers from across Illinois |
| 8 | | formed the Independent Community Banks of
Illinois to nurture |
| 9 | | the great independent banking system in Illinois; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Bob Wingert joined the then-Independent Community |
| 11 | | Banks of Illinois (ICBI) as its first
employee and executive |
| 12 | | director in March of 1975; in 1987, ICBI became the Community |
| 13 | | Bankers Association of Illinois; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Bob Wingert currently serves as the CEO and |
| 15 | | President of the Community Bankers Association
of Illinois; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Through passionate never-ending effort, Bob |
| 17 | | Wingert ably, enthusiastically, and tirelessly
worked to |
| 18 | | strengthen the voice of community banking and led the |
| 19 | | association through more than 40 years of
growth and change; |

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Bob Wingert has also served the Independent |
| 2 | | Community Bankers of America as a committee
member, delegate, |
| 3 | | and member of the board of directors; and

| 4 | | WHEREAS, Bob Wingert has overseen the evolution of CBAI |
| 5 | | into one of the preeminent state banking
associations in the |
| 6 | | nation, second to none in Illinois; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Bob Wingert has enthusiastically championed the |
| 8 | | importance of community banks in Illinois,
including its small |
| 9 | | businesses, farmers, community endeavors, students, and |
| 10 | | consumers; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Illinois community banks could not have found a |
| 12 | | more true and fierce advocate for the past 42
years than Bob |
| 13 | | Wingert; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Bob Wingert's legacy will be a continued strong |
| 15 | | and vibrant community banking profession,
which is the economic |
| 16 | | foundation of America's main street; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Bob Wingert and his wife, Diane, are the parents |
| 18 | | of four children, Doak, Paige, Chase, and Cash; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Bob Wingert's tenure as president of CBAI will |
| 20 | | officially end on December 31, 2017; therefore, be it
|

| 1 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 2 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 3 | | congratulate Robert J. Wingert
on his retirement after more |
| 4 | | than 42 years as president of the Community Bankers Association |
| 5 | | of
Illinois, and we wish him the best in all his future |
| 6 | | endeavors; and be it further
