HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize  the Contractors Association 
4of Will and Grundy Counties (CAWGC) on the occasion of its 85th 
5anniversary; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, CAWGC was founded in 1933 as
the Joliet 
7Contractors Association; in 1961, the name was changed to the 
8Will County Contractors Association to reflect the larger 
9geographic region it represented; then in 1974, the
association 
10became the Contractors Association of Will and Grundy Counties 
11when it was
merged with the Grundy County Contractors 
12Association; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, The CAWGC is comprised of businesses in or

14associated with the construction industry, whose purpose is to 
15provide a unified
representation in all matters pertaining to 
16the construction industry in Will
and Grundy Counties; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, The CAWGC is thriving with almost 200 members and 
18is proud to be the voice of the
commercial, industrial, and 
19institutional construction industry as it has for the past 
20eight decades; and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, The CAWGC holds a variety of networking

1opportunities, a
yearly cocktail reception and every fifth year 
2celebrates its anniversary
with a huge gala; each year the 
3association donates  profits from these events to local 
4charities; therefore, be it
  
 
  
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
6HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7recognize  the Contractors Association of Will and Grundy 
8Counties on its 85th anniversary and we wish it many more 
9successful years; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to CAWGC as an expression of our esteem and respect.
