HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Oak Lawn Police Chief 
4Michael Murray on the occasion of his retirement after 30 years 
5of service with the Oak Lawn Police Department; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Chief Murray is a lifelong resident of Oak Lawn; 
7he joined the police department in July of 1987; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Chief Murray spent five years in the patrol 
9division before switching to investigations; he was promoted to 
10chief in 2013; and
  
 
  
11    WHEREAS, Chief Murray graduated from St. Catherine of 
12Alexandria School and Marist High School; he earned his 
13bachelor's degree in sociology with an emphasis on law 
14enforcement at Benedictine University  in 1984; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Chief Murray and his wife, Cathy, have five 
16children, Tim, Molly, Christopher, Allyson, and Benjamin; 
17therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
19HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
20congratulate Oak Lawn Police Chief Michael Murray on his

1retirement after 30 years of service with the Oak Lawn Police 
2Department, and we wish him the best in all his future 
3endeavors; and be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to Chief Murray as an expression of our esteem and 
6respect.
