| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Donald F. |
| 4 | | Futymoski of Aurora, who passed away on July 19, 2017; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Donald Futymoski was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan
|
| 6 | | to John and Wanda Futymoski on December 3, 1925; he attended
|
| 7 | | Roosevelt Elementary School and Kalamazoo Central High School;
|
| 8 | | at the age of 18, he joined the United States Marine Corps and
|
| 9 | | became part of the 5th Marine Division as a gunner in a mortar
|
| 10 | | platoon on Iwo Jima; after the surrender of Japan, he was part
|
| 11 | | of the occupation forces on the island of Kyushu; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Donald Futymoski returned from the war and became
|
| 13 | | a pipefitter, working for Upjohn in Kalamazoo; he was a
|
| 14 | | sprinkler fitter for UA Local 669; he married Margaret J. Watt
|
| 15 | | in Aurora on October 31, 1953; he joined the Aurora Fire
|
| 16 | | Department in 1956 and retired in 1979; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Donald Futymoski was a member of the Fox Valley
|
| 18 | | Marines and the Phoenix Club and a former member of Moose Lodge
|
| 19 | | 400; he coached boys baseball and youth league softball; he
|
| 20 | | enjoyed watching Sealmasters and Home Savings at SA Field and |
| 21 | | when they travelled as well; he also enjoyed fishing and
|
| 22 | | vegetable gardening; and
|
