HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate William Franklin Squires 
4IV on obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 
5493; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, William Squires began his scouting career as a 
7Tiger Scout at the age of six; as a Boy Scout, he attended 
8summer camp at Camp Napowan, Camp
MaKaJaWan, and Camp Tomahawk; 
9he attended the 2013 National Boy Scout Jamboree and

10participated is numerous other camping trips, outings, and 
11service projects; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, William Squires achieved the rank of Eagle Scout 
13on
June 6, 2017; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, To become an Eagle Scout, William Squires earned a 
15total of 25 merit badges; he also had to
plan, develop, and 
16provide leadership to others in a service project benefiting 
17the community; his
project benefited the School District 54 
18Early Learning Center Sensory Garden; the project
created four 
19raised flower beds for plants that engage the five senses and 
20three outdoor scales
for the students to experiment with 
21weighing objects; he chose to give back to the School
District 
2254 Early Childhood Program, because he attended the program as

1a preschooler; he credits the program for giving him a strong 
2foundation for success; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, William Squires is a 17-year-old
senior at Hoffman 
4Estates High School; he is the son of William F. III and 
5Stephanie Squires; he also participates in Best Buddies, band, 
6German Exchange,
and Thespians; he works as a life guard at the 
7local pool; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, After high school, William Squires plans on

9continuing his education and earning a bachelor's degree; he 
10also plans to continue to give
back by volunteering in the 
11community; therefore, be it
  
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
13HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
14congratulate William Franklin Squires IV on obtaining the rank 
15of Eagle Scout with Boy Scout Troop 493; and be it further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That as a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to William Squires as a symbol of our respect and 
18esteem.
