| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Bill Rodeghier on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of his retirement as Western Springs Village | ||||||
| 5 | President; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Bill Rodeghier has been a member of the Western | ||||||
| 7 | Springs Village Board for 12 years, eight of those were spent | ||||||
| 8 | as president; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, Bill Rodeghier was born in the Edison Park | ||||||
| 10 | neighborhood of Chicago; he attended Quigley North High School | ||||||
| 11 | and graduated from Loyola University with a degree in classical | ||||||
| 12 | languages; he began teaching Latin at Weber High School in | ||||||
| 13 | Chicago before being drafted into the United States Army in | ||||||
| 14 | 1970; he was sent to the Army language school in El Paso, Texas | ||||||
| 15 | and then to Army headquarters in Da Nang, Vietnam; he was | ||||||
| 16 | discharged in 1972 and attended the Chicago-Kent College of Law | ||||||
| 17 | on the GI Bill; he was admitted to the bar in 1975; and
| ||||||
| 18 | WHEREAS, Bill Rodeghier married Kathy in 1976 and they | ||||||
| 19 | settled in Western Springs in 1977; they have lived in their | ||||||
| 20 | Field Park house for 40 years and have two children, Ed and | ||||||
| 21 | Mary; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Bill Rodeghier was elected Western Springs | ||||||
| 2 | Village Board Trustee in 2005, and village president in 2009; | ||||||
| 3 | in 2013, he became the first Western Springs Village President | ||||||
| 4 | to be elected to a second term; and
| ||||||
| 5 | WHEREAS, During
his tenure, Bill Rodeghier served as a | ||||||
| 6 | board member at the Chicago
Metropolitan Agency for Planning; | ||||||
| 7 | he was a member of the Council of Mayors and participated in | ||||||
| 8 | the
Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Improvement Program; | ||||||
| 9 | he also served as a member of the executive committee of the | ||||||
| 10 | West
Central Municipal Conference and served as its president | ||||||
| 11 | in 2016; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 12 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 13 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 14 | congratulate Bill Rodeghier on his retirement as Western | ||||||
| 15 | Springs Village President, and we wish him the best in all his | ||||||
| 16 | future endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 17 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 18 | presented to Bill Rodeghier as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
| 19 | esteem.
