| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives would like
to recognize Jim Mammen on his |
| 4 | | accomplishments as US JCI Senate President; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jim Mammen joined the Lincoln Jaycees in 1977 and |
| 6 | | became
active in chapter activities; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, In 1981, Jim Mammen became President of the
|
| 8 | | Lincoln Jaycees; from 1983-1984, he was the Illinois Jaycee |
| 9 | | Area Vice President; in 1984, he became district director of |
| 10 | | the
Prairieland Region; he became the 25th President of the |
| 11 | | Illinois JCI Senate in 1991; and |
| 12 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois JCI Senate celebrated their silver
|
| 13 | | anniversary under Jim Mammen's leadership; he was recognized at |
| 14 | | the end
of his year as President as one of the outstanding |
| 15 | | state Presidents by the
United States JCI Senate; and |
| 16 | | WHEREAS, In 1996, Jim Mammen became President of the |
| 17 | | Illinois Jaycee
Charitable Foundation and held office until |
| 18 | | 2004; under his
leadership, the scholarship program grew, |
| 19 | | grants to local
chapters increased, and fundraisers |
| 20 | | established a healthy
financial enterprise; and |
|

| 1 | | WHEREAS, Jim Mammen was inducted into the Illinois Jaycee
|
| 2 | | Hall of Fame in 2010; and |
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Jim Mammen was active in the US JCI Senate
|
| 4 | | Constitution and bylaws, Reverse Raffle Chairmen, World |
| 5 | | Congress
Senate Chairman, Ambassador to Europe, Ira Moser |
| 6 | | Memorial Award
Winner, Secretary in 2014-15, Administrative |
| 7 | | Vice President in
2015-16, and 2016-17 US JCI Senate |
| 8 | | Presidency; and |
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Jim Mammen has held multiple rolls on the local |
| 10 | | school
board, including Secretary, resolution chairman, |
| 11 | | representative
of the Foundation Board, district delegate at |
| 12 | | the annual school
board convention, and vice president; he also |
| 13 | | served on board
committees and was active with the annual staff |
| 14 | | recognition
luncheon and negotiations; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, In his spare time, Jim Mammen is active and |
| 16 | | supportive
to the youth of Lincoln; he was instrumental in the |
| 17 | | selection
process of student scholarships representing the |
| 18 | | Foundation
Board, coached youth football and baseball, and was |
| 19 | | a baseball
umpire and basketball referee for 20 years; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Jim Mammen was born June 12, 1952, is married to |
| 21 | | his wife, Cindy, and has two children and five grandchildren; |
| 22 | | he was employed with Caterpillar in Peoria for
more than 40 |

| 2 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 3 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 4 | | recognize Jim Mammen for his outstanding work with the Lincoln |
| 5 | | Jaycees and the community of Lincoln; and be it further
|
| 6 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
|
| 7 | | presented to Jim Mammen as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
