| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives wish to congratulate Steve Stricker on the | ||||||
| 4 | occasion of his retirement as administrator for the Village of | ||||||
| 5 | Burr Ridge on June 30, 2017; and
| ||||||
| 6 | WHEREAS, Steve Stricker has served as the village | ||||||
| 7 | administrator for Burr Ridge from 1989 to 2017; prior to that, | ||||||
| 8 | he worked as a social studies teacher for Hillside Elementary | ||||||
| 9 | School from 1979 to 1981, administrative assistant for the | ||||||
| 10 | Village of LaGrange from 1982 to 1983, deputy building | ||||||
| 11 | commissioner for LaGrange from 1983 to 1984, assistant village | ||||||
| 12 | manager/personnel director for LaGrange from 1984 to 1989, and | ||||||
| 13 | acting village administrator for LaGrange for six months from | ||||||
| 14 | 1987 to 1988; and
| ||||||
| 15 | WHEREAS, Steve Stricker has been a part of numerous | ||||||
| 16 | organizations, including the Illinois Association of Municipal | ||||||
| 17 | Management Assistants from 1987 to 1988, where he served as | ||||||
| 18 | president; the Illinois City Management Association for over 30 | ||||||
| 19 | years, where he served on the board of directors in 1987; the | ||||||
| 20 | International Personnel Management Association; the National | ||||||
| 21 | Public Employer Labor Relations Association; the Illinois | ||||||
| 22 | Public Employer Labor Relations Association; the DuPage Mayors | ||||||
| 23 | and Managers Conference, where he served as treasurer from | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | 1992-1993, 2007-2008, and 2011-2012 and was on the executive | ||||||
| 2 | board from 1992-1993 and 2005-2017; the Intergovernmental Risk | ||||||
| 3 | Management Agency, where he served as treasurer in 1989 and was | ||||||
| 4 | on the board of directors from 1984-1989 and 1991-1994; the | ||||||
| 5 | Intergovernmental Personnel Benefit Cooperative, where he | ||||||
| 6 | served on the board of directors from 1984-1987 and 1993-2017 | ||||||
| 7 | and was on the executive board from 2011-2014; the | ||||||
| 8 | International City/County Management Association, where he was | ||||||
| 9 | presented the 35-year Service Award in 2016; and
| ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, From 1996 to 2017, Steve Stricker has been a | ||||||
| 11 | member of the Burr Ridge and Hinsdale Rotary Clubs; president | ||||||
| 12 | of the Burr Ridge Club 1998-1999; Burr Ridge Club Rotarian of | ||||||
| 13 | the Year 2002;
treasurer of Burr Ridge Club 1997 and 1999-2005; | ||||||
| 14 | secretary of Hinsdale Club 2006-2009 and 2016-2017; Hinsdale | ||||||
| 15 | Club "Service Above Self" award 2008;
vice president of the | ||||||
| 16 | Hinsdale Club 2015-2016; and
| ||||||
| 17 | WHEREAS, Steve Stricker's education includes the Rocky | ||||||
| 18 | Mountain Program, University of Colorado at Denver Center for | ||||||
| 19 | the
Improvement of Public Management; two-week post graduate | ||||||
| 20 | training program for senior level public
sector executives; | ||||||
| 21 | Master of Arts in Public Affairs from Northern Illinois | ||||||
| 22 | University; Bachelor of Arts in History from Luther College, | ||||||
| 23 | Decorah, Iowa; and
| ||||||

| 1 | WHEREAS, Steve Stricker married Carol Hennessy in January | ||||||
| 2 | of 2014; therefore, be it | ||||||
| 3 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE | ||||||
| 4 | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we | ||||||
| 5 | congratulate Steve Stricker on his retirement as administrator | ||||||
| 6 | for the Village of Burr Ridge, and we wish him the best in all | ||||||
| 7 | his future endeavors; and be it further
| ||||||
| 8 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 9 | presented to Steve Stricker as a symbol of our respect and | ||||||
| 10 | esteem.
