HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives would like
to recognize Basler Electric on the 
4occasion of its 75th anniversary; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Carl Basler started Basler Electric in 1942 in

6Highland after working in his father's garage from a
young age; 
7and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, In the 1950s, Basler Electric began manufacturing

9power supplies and rectifiers and introduced its first solid 
10state
voltage regulator; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, In the 1970s, Basler Electric developed its first

12static excitation system to control large utility-scale

13electrical power generation; and
 
14    WHEREAS, In the 1990s, Basler Electric received a patent 
15for
the first microprocessor-based voltage regulator and later 
16on
introduced the first of a family of digital excitation 
17control
systems or DCES; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Basler Electric has expanded from
Highland to 
19Taylor, Texas; Piedras Negras, Mexico; San
Marcos, Texas; 
20Suzhou, China; and Singapore; and

1    WHEREAS, The core values of integrity, reliability,

2conduct, and sustainability that Carl Basler instilled in his

3company 75 years ago still exist in the company today; 
4therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
6HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
7recognize Basler Electric on its 75 years of serving Highland; 
8and be it further
 
9    RESOLVED, That we wish Basler Electric many years of

10continued success in the future; and be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented
to Basler Electric as a symbol of our respect and 
13esteem.
