to recognize Basler Electric on the |
| 4 | | occasion of its 75th anniversary; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, Carl Basler started Basler Electric in 1942 in

| 6 | | Highland after working in his father's garage from a
young age; |
| 7 | | and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, In the 1950s, Basler Electric began manufacturing
|
| 9 | | power supplies and rectifiers and introduced its first solid |
| 10 | | state
voltage regulator; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, In the 1970s, Basler Electric developed its first
|
| 12 | | static excitation system to control large utility-scale
|
| 13 | | electrical power generation; and |
| 14 | | WHEREAS, In the 1990s, Basler Electric received a patent |
| 15 | | for
the first microprocessor-based voltage regulator and later |
| 16 | | on
introduced the first of a family of digital excitation |
| 17 | | control
systems or DCES; and

| 18 | | WHEREAS, Basler Electric has expanded from
Highland to |
| 19 | | Taylor, Texas; Piedras Negras, Mexico; San
Marcos, Texas; |
| 20 | | Suzhou, China; and Singapore; and
