HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize Round Lake High School on 
4being ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best 
5schools in Illinois and the nation; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, From 2001 through 2011, Round Lake High School was 
7run by the State because of severe financial problems; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Just six years after being taken off the State 
9financial watch list, U.S. News  & World Report ranked Round 
10Lake High School 76th out of 658 Illinois high schools, placing 
11it in the top 12% of the State and earning it a silver medal; 
12and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, This is the first time Round Lake High School has 
14received such an honor, and it is emblematic of the great 
15strides the school has made; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Round Lake High School ranks 2,267th in the 
17country, putting it in the top 10 percentile; therefore, be it
  
 
  
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
19HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
20recognize Round Lake High School on being ranked by U.S. News &

1World Report as one of the best schools in Illinois and the 
2nation, and we wish them many more successful years; and be it 
3further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to Round Lake High School Principal Donn Mendoza as a 
6symbol of our respect and esteem.
