HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Nicolas and Pureza Pacis 
4on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Pureza Ramiro Pacis was born in Vintar, Ilocos

6Norte, Philippines on October 5, 1941; she graduated from the 
7University of the Philippines with a Bachelor of Science
in 
8Social Work and a Bachelor of Science in Education; she spent a 
9number of years working as an elementary and high school 
10teacher before entering public service; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Nicolas Pacis was born in Vintar, Ilocos
Norte, 
12Philippines on October 20, 1937; he graduated from Araneta 
13University with a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural

14Engineering; after working as a physics teacher, he too became 
15a government
employee; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Both Nicolas and Pureza Pacis were raised in 
17Vintar; both had common
cousins from each side of the family; 
18both had common friends; both taught high
school at the town's 
19Vintar Academy at the same time, where a beautiful friendship

20blossomed into a relationship, then grew into a family; and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, Nicolas and Pureza Pacis were married on June 18,

11967; and
  
 
  
2    WHEREAS, Nicolas and Pureza Pacis reside in Bartlett; their 
3Golden Wedding Anniversary will be celebrated with family and

4friends at the Bartlett Community Center on June 18, 2017; 
5therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
7HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
8congratulate Nicolas and Pureza Pacis on their 50th wedding 
9anniversary, and we wish them many more wonderful years 
10together; and be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to Nicolas and Pureza Pacis as a symbol of our 
13respect and esteem.
