HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased
to congratulate the 
4Beckemeyer-Wade Fire Protection District for 100 years of

5service to the community; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Beckemeyer Volunteer Fire Department
was 
7founded on January 10, 1917; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Police Magistrate H.H. Timmermann swore in the 
9first 26
members of the department; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Anton Washford was appointed the department's 
11first chief; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, During the department's first year, it responded 
13to two fire emergencies; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Today, the Beckemeyer-Wade Fire Protection 
15District responds to
an average of 100 to 120 emergency calls 
16annually and has nearly 30 firefighters; therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
18HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

19congratulate the Beckemeyer-Wade Fire Protection District for

1100 years of
service to the community; and be it further
  
 
2    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
3presented to the
Beckemeyer-Wade Fire Protection District as a 
4symbol of our esteem and
respect.
