| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to recognize Burr Ridge Mayor Michael |
| 4 | | "Mickey" Staub's pilgrimage to 50 state capitals in 50 days; |
| 5 | | and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, On September 4, 2012, Mayor Staub launched his |
| 7 | | trip in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and over the next 44 days, he |
| 8 | | visited all 50 state capitals across the United States; at each |
| 9 | | capitol building he recited the Gettysburg Address, becoming |
| 10 | | the first, and only, person to do so; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Mayor Staub concluded his trip in Springfield on |
| 12 | | October 17, 2012 in front of Lincoln's Tomb, having driven |
| 13 | | seven to eight hours and 425 miles per day; he took over 7,000 |
| 14 | | pictures; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Mayor Staub set out on his trip to honor Abraham |
| 16 | | Lincoln and our veterans; therefore, be it
|
| 17 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 18 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 19 | | recognize Burr Ridge Mayor Michael "Mickey" Staub's pilgrimage |
| 20 | | to 50 state capitals in 50 days; and be it further
