HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize Barbara Schafer for her work 
4as Senior Director of Hospitality and Wellness for the 
5King-Bruwaert House in Burr Ridge; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Barbara Schafer began her career at  the 
7King-Bruwaert House in June of 1992; she  played a pivotal role 
8in the development, construction, and operations of The Woods 
9of King-Bruwaert; today, she  oversees both The Woods and Godair 
10Park; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Barbara Schafer initiated, organized, and 
12continues to oversee the K-B Adorables and Men in Black senior 
13adult dance and fitness troupe; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Barbara Schafer's honors include 2016  induction 
15in the Senior Illinoisans Hall of Fame, Illinois Department  on 
16Aging; Certificate of Appreciation from the Elmhurst Senior 
17Citizens Commission for   participation in the Elmhurst Senior 
18and Community Expo, April of 2005; nomination for the Life 
19Services Network Shining Star Award, February of 2004 and 
20certificate of recognition; she was featured in Assisted Living 
21Success Magazine in February of 2003; and

1    WHEREAS, Barbara Schafer holds a degree in music from 
2Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee; she is 
3an accomplished flutist and former Jazzercise instructor; she 
4has been designated an Older Adult Fitness Specialist and is 
5recognized by the Coalition for Leadership in Aging Services; 
6therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
8HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
9recognize Barbara Schafer for her work as Senior Director of 
10Hospitality and Wellness for the King-Bruwaert House in Burr 
11Ridge, and we wish her many more successful years; and be it 
12further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to Barbara Schafer as an expression of our esteem and 
15respect.
