HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Lemont Mayor Brian K. 
4Reaves on the occasion of his retirement; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Mayor Reaves was elected as Mayor of Lemont in 
62009 after having served as a Trustee and
Chair of the Village 
7Board's finance committee since 2003; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, In October of 2013, Mayor Reaves was appointed to 
9the Commuter Rail Board (Metra) as  Director; he was
reappointed 
10to a four-year term in 2015; he has been involved in various 
11transportation issues
over the past several years and has 
12previously served on the Transportation Committee and 
13Legislative
Committee for the Southwest Conference of Mayors; 
14and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Mayor Reaves is a member of the Board of Directors 
16of the Will County Governmental League,
where he chairs the 
17Legislative Committee; in addition, he serves as President of 
18the Northern Will
County Water Agency and has been a member of 
19the Metra Heritage Corridor Alliance since 2009; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Mayor Reaves is the Executive Vice-President of 
21MHI in Charlotte, North Carolina; and

1    WHEREAS, Mayor Reaves and his
wife, Sherrie, have four 
2children; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
4HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
5congratulate Lemont Mayor Brian K. Reaves on his retirement, 
6and we wish him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it 
7further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to Mayor Reaves as an expression of our esteem and 
10respect.
