| 2 | | WHEREAS, The Illinois House of Representatives wishes to |
| 3 | | congratulate Edward-Elmhurst
Healthcare System CEO Pam Davis |
| 4 | | on the announcement of her retirement after 28 years of
|
| 5 | | expanding and improving healthcare services for families in and |
| 6 | | around the collar counties; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Pam Davis arrived at Edward Hospital in 1988 and |
| 8 | | quickly established a
reputation as an innovative executive; |
| 9 | | during her tenure as President and CEO, she led the |
| 10 | | transformation from a small community hospital into a regional |
| 11 | | medical center rated
among the most preferred hospitals in the |
| 12 | | State with numerous national accolades; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, In 2013, Pam Davis led the effort to merge with |
| 14 | | Elmhurst Memorial Hospital and
created Edward-Elmhurst Health, |
| 15 | | a three-hospital system that includes Edward Hospital,
|
| 16 | | Elmhurst Hospital, and Linden Oaks Behavioral Health; the |
| 17 | | system has more than 60 locations
across a service area of 1.7 |
| 18 | | million residents, nearly 8,500 employees, and 2,000 |
| 19 | | physicians on
its medical staff; and |
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Under the leadership of Pam Davis, |
| 21 | | Edward-Elmhurst
Healthcare System earned a reputation as a |
| 22 | | healthcare leader by
providing advanced cardiac care at Edward |
|

| 1 | | Heart Hospital, state-of-the-art cancer diagnosis and

| 2 | | treatment at Edward Cancer Center, world class stroke care |

| 5 | | Linden
Oaks; in addition, Edward has been a magnet hospital for |
| 6 | | nursing excellence since 2005 and is
one of only six hospitals |
| 7 | | in Illinois to have achieved magnet status three times or more; |

| 9 | | WHEREAS, The impact of Pam Davis has been felt well beyond |
| 10 | | Naperville; she brought convenient
access to high-quality |
| 11 | | healthcare for residents throughout the west and southwest |
| 12 | | suburbs,
including the development of the 60-acre Edward |
| 13 | | Plainfield campus and Edward-Elmhurst
Health Centers in |
| 14 | | Addison, Bolingbrook, Crest Hill, Elmhurst, Hinsdale, Lombard, |
| 15 | | Naperville, Oak
Park, Oswego, Plainfield, and Yorkville; she |
| 16 | | led the effort to launch walk-in clinics in
Aurora, |
| 17 | | Bensenville, Franklin Park, Lombard, Naperville, Plainfield, |
| 18 | | River Forest, Romeoville,
Westmont, Woodridge, and Yorkville; |
| 19 | | and

| 20 | | WHEREAS, Pam Davis did a great service for all Illinois |
| 21 | | taxpayers, blowing the whistle on
corruption previously |
| 22 | | plaguing the State hospital application process; when being |
| 23 | | strong-armed into
hiring specific politically-connected |
| 24 | | construction firms to receive State approval of her

| 1 | | application, she contacted the FBI and wore a secret listening |
| 2 | | device for eight months to
gather evidence of possible |
| 3 | | extortion that helped lead to successful criminal prosecutions |

Stuart Levine and Tony Rezko, among others; and

| 5 | | WHEREAS, In February of 2017, Pam Davis was presented the |
| 6 | | Career Achievement Award by
Chicago Health Executives Forum |
| 7 | | (CHEF), the largest independent chapter of the American
College |
| 8 | | of Health Executives (ACHE); she was previously honored by |
| 9 | | CHEF/ACHE with the 2015
Recognition Program Service Award and |
| 10 | | 2009 Healthcare Leadership Award; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Pam Davis has created a lasting legacy of making |
| 12 | | vital healthcare services more
readily accessible for hundreds |
| 13 | | of thousands of Illinois families, as well as taking a strong |
| 14 | | stand
against public corruption; therefore, be it
|
| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 16 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 17 | | honor Pam
Davis for her achievements and her integrity, and we |
| 18 | | wish her well in retirement; and be it further
|
| 19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 20 | | presented to Pam Davis as an expression of
our esteem and |
| 21 | | respect.
