HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Suzan Nash on the occasion 
4of her retirement as the Western Illinois Regional Council 
5Executive Director in 2017 after 36 years of service; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Suzan Nash joined the Western Illinois Regional 
7Council in 1979 as a Planner; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Suzan Nash became the agency's second Executive 
9Director in 1981, the first female executive director of a 
10regional planning agency in Illinois; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Suzan Nash worked to establish the formation of 
12the Western Illinois Regional Council's
Community Action 
13Agency in 1982; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Suzan Nash worked to establish the Western 
15Illinois Regional Council's Victim Services
domestic violence 
16program in 1986 and the sexual assault program in 1991; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Suzan Nash's distinguished leadership, 
18dedication, and commitment to the Western Illinois
Regional 
19Council has had a positive impact on thousands of residents in 
20West Central Illinois; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3congratulate Suzan Nash on her retirement as the Western 
4Illinois Regional Council Executive Director, and we wish her 
5the best in all her future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to Suzan Nash as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
