HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to congratulate Rev. Tom Mulcrone on the 
4occasion of his retirement as the Chicago Fire Department 
5chaplain after 30 years of service; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Rev. Mulcrone is the third official chaplain in 
7the history of the Chicago Fire Department; he was appointed by 
8Cardinal Joseph Bernardin in 1987 and has served through five 
9mayors and ten fire commissioners; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Rev. Mulcrone ministers to firefighters and their 
11families during both happy and sad times, from special 
12occasions to deaths in the line-of-duty; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Rev. Mulcrone was one of eight kids that grew up 
14attending Resurrection Parish; he attended Quigley South High 
15School and Loyola University before entering St. Mary of the 
16Lake Seminary; and
  
 
  
17    WHEREAS, Rev. Mulcrone plans to continue his role as 
18chaplain at St. Mary of Providence, a facility that serves 
19people with developmental disabilities; his retirement will 
20become official on June 30, 2017; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
2HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
3congratulate Rev. Tom Mulcrone on his retirement as the Chicago 
4Fire Department chaplain after 30 years of service, and we wish 
5him the best in all his future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to Rev. Mulcrone as an expression of our esteem and 
8respect.
