| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives wish to congratulate the East St. Louis High |
| 4 | | School football team, the Flyers, on winning the Illinois High |
| 5 | | School Association Class 7A State Championship; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, The Flyers defeated Plainfield North High School |
| 7 | | in the title game by a score of 25 to 13 on November 26, 2016 at |
| 8 | | Memorial Stadium on the campus of the University of Illinois; |
| 9 | | and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, The Flyers compiled a season record of 14 wins and |
| 11 | | no losses on their way to the championship; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, This is the eighth title for the Flyers and the |
| 13 | | first since 2008; therefore, be it
|
| 14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE |
| 15 | | HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we |
| 16 | | congratulate the East St. Louis High School football team, the |
| 17 | | Flyers, on winning the Illinois High School Association Class |
| 18 | | 7A State Championship, and we wish them many more successful |
| 19 | | years; and be it further
