HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of

3Representatives wish to congratulate Richard Lacey on the

4occasion of his 100th birthday on February 4, 2017; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Richard Lacey was born on February 4, 1917; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Richard Lacey served during World War II in 
7Iceland,
England, France, and Belgium; his units were Battery B 
8of the 495th AAA Gun
Battalion and the 61st AAA Gun Battalion, 
9which he served in from
1940 to 1945; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Richard Lacey went ashore at Normandy, France a 
11few days after D-Day and
braved the Battle of the Bulge, the 
12deadliest battle of World War II for
the United States; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Richard Lacey spent his time has a Coca-Cola truck 
14driver and school
bus driver until his retirement; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Richard Lacey is a devoted family man and has  
16celebrated
over 50 years of marriage to his wife, Eyla, and 
17helped
raise five children, five grandchildren, and two 
18great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE

1HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we

2congratulate Richard Lacey on his 100th birthday
