HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize the 40th anniversary of 
4Friendship Village in Schaumburg opening its doors to 
5residents; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Friendship Village is a Continuing Care 
7Retirement Community dedicated to providing adults age 62 and 
8older with living options aimed at promoting good health and 
9interesting, fulfilling lifestyles; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Friendship Village was founded in January of 1974 
11and began welcoming residents three years later on January 17, 
121977; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, In 1987, Friendship Village became the first 
14Continuing Care Retirement Community in Illinois to be 
15accredited by the Continuing Care Accreditation Commission; in 
162013, it earned its fifth five-year re-accreditation; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Friendship Village has been recognized with 
18numerous prestigious awards for the quality of its programs and 
19amenities, for its landscaping, and for its community service; 
20and

1    WHEREAS, Friendship Village was the recipient of the "2013 
2Reader's Choice Award" by the Daily Herald for Best 
3Retirement/Assisted Living Community; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE ONE 
5HUNDREDTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we 
6recognize the 40th anniversary of Friendship Village in 
7Schaumburg opening its doors to residents and we wish them many 
8more successful years; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to Friendship Village as an expression of our esteem 
11and respect.
