Amends the State Commemorative Dates Act. Designates the month of April as Crime Survivors Awareness Month to be observed throughout the State as a month to promote awareness of the impact of crime on victims, and to encourage healing, awareness, prevention, and endurance for crime survivors in the State of Illinois.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The State Commemorative Dates Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 149 as follows: |
| 6 | | (5 ILCS 490/149 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 149. Crime Survivors Awareness Month. The month of |
| 8 | | April of each year is designated as Crime Survivors Awareness |
| 9 | | Month to be observed throughout the State as a month to promote |
| 10 | | awareness of the impact of crime on victims, and to encourage |
| 11 | | healing, awareness, prevention, and endurance for crime |
| 12 | | survivors in the State of Illinois.
