| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Public Community College Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 3-29.11 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (110 ILCS 805/3-29.11 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 3-29.11. Southwestern Illinois College dual credit |
| 8 | | program. Notwithstanding any provisions of this Act to the |
| 9 | | contrary, East St. Louis School District 189 is encouraged to |
| 10 | | allow students in grades 11 and 12 to take classes at |
| 11 | | Southwestern Illinois College for dual credit at no cost to the |
| 12 | | student.
