| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Township Code is amended by changing the |
| 5 | | heading of Article 50 and by adding Section 50-32 as follows:

| 11 | | Sec. 50-32. Sangamon County township collectors. |
| 12 | | (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of this Article, |
| 13 | | the offices of township collector in Sangamon County are |
| 14 | | discontinued on January 1, 2022. On January 1, 2022, the |
| 15 | | Sangamon County Treasurer assumes the duties of each township |
| 16 | | collector in Sangamon County. |
| 17 | | (b) If a township collector's office becomes vacant in |
| 18 | | Sangamon County before January 1, 2022, the vacancy may not be |
| 19 | | filled and the Sangamon County Treasurer shall assume the |
| 20 | | duties of that township collector.

| 21 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
